WORDS FROM THE COUCH
Great coffee served with little animal crackers. Comfortable chairs and great music are also a plus. I could have sat here for a verrrrry long time.

This place is just one of the best places in Austin. What a great selection of drinks. And s’mores. Don’t forget the s’mores. Comfortable seating everywhere. Relaxing and welcoming environment. Would definitely go back.

“Loved the name! Came here on a Saturday night for drinks and it was nice to have the breeze coming into the bar because the entire space is open.
Chill atmosphere, good customer service, no crazy drink lines, and a pitcher of water with cups out for people.”

“An Austin Staple. The place is so inviting when you step inside. I cannot tell you how many times i’ve spent my winter nights curled up on one of the couches, drinking my expresso and surfing the internet surrounded my local art. If you are looking for a place to chill and read a book or catch up with friends, this would be the place to go hands down.”

“Effortlessly low-key. Refreshing and relaxing. A great place to hang out with your friends. I love the bloody mary bar—-(all types of hot sauces, pickled peppers, olives, okra, celery, corn, etc. The mimosa’s were pretty good—$2.50 each or $7 for bottomless during brunch. The food selection was small, but sufficient. Decent food at a decent price. Panini was a little on the sweet side for me. My kids licked the crepes and french toast plates clean.”

“I love this place!! During the day it is a very hip spacious place to sip some good coffee, meet some friends, or chill out and do some work. During the evening, it’s and even hipper spacious joint to sip on some awesome mixed drinks and eat some fabulous desserts. I had the most amazing martini — a French 77 which is topped with champagne. People are open and friendly here, with a fun vibe. Can’t recommend this place enough.”

“I stopped in a few days ago with my wife and 3 daughters – between all of us we had great espresso, a rusty nail, a Cohiba cigar, a couple pressed game and cheese croissants, tea, chips, and some cold drinks. We sat outside with our English Bulldog and chilled. Hollis took great care of us again!”

“This place sure has gone through a lot of changes in the past few years but one thing has not changed: it’s still a place I love going to with friends before a night out downtown! The ambiance is great.. it’s darkly lit with a few tables and tons of sofas — perfect for lounging around with friends while eating s-waitforit-mores, smores! I’d recommend this place for anyone who wants to just hang out with friends in a relaxed atmosphere while having a few drinks and eating smores.”

“I love this place now! Halcyon is a bar, coffeeshop and smoke/cigar shop. It’s perfectly located downtown to go grab coffee or a drink before a show. My favorite thing about them is that they serve SMORES!!!!! I still can’t get over it! They bring a cute little fire pot to your table on a tray with marshmallows, chocolate bars and little graham crackers in saltines-sized packages. Too cute and so much fun!

“Best Chocolate Martini in town. Actually, it’s a chocolate espresso martini. But still, I never would have guessed this corner coffee shop/lounge could out-do the Four Seasons. When I told the bartender how much I enjoyed it, he proudly said, “You won’t find a better one in this city”. And he wasn’t arrogant about it, he was just matter-of-fact, and I agree.”

“Fantastic!! i had such a great night last night when we went out to downtown Austin… The smores were OBVIOUSLY doable at home but it was a fun environment. Everyone’s so close together yet you’re still able to do your own thing around that little 2 by 2 table. You can come here with any attire!! This place is just so chill
